Poetry: Trust

by William Engelman

Created on: August 01, 2009   Last Updated: August 02, 2009

Break my soul,
Upon desperate tactics;
To back-pedal through
Miserable mistakes that have ripped-
Its tremor across this blanket of trust.

Leaving this chasm broken open
Laying waste to the infections,
Decaying these foundations.
Built from the ground
Taking years of insulation-
Resolution to be banished upon the
Heartless ocean of lies and deceit,

So this sliver of corruption is what you shall treasure!
I raise my hands to the heavens
And scream along the celestial bodies
That paved its glistening trails for all to observe.
As my heart finds its loneliness to start repairs;
From hope and light filling in the empty
Pits to hide its tattered remains.
How can we proceed?
For my consequences will not let me pass,
With your hardened heart.

But trust knows her importance
Like this old covered bridge; it shall be
And remains longing for repairs,
to reach each others souls.
It can be repaired, it can be repaired; it can be mended!
It once again opens to the flow of secret and songs
It can be repaired, it can be repaired; it can be mended!
To continue its love and to continue this journey home
