Spicy Chicken Breasts

If you are new to cooking, don't really like to cook, or simply don't know how to cook well, the kitchen can be a scary place! Here's a tasty recipe that you can make using one Ziploc bag and one baking pan. That's it! This recipe not only takes less than 5 minutes to make, it also takes less than 5 minutes to clean up as well!

Preheat oven to 350 F

4-5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup sour cream

1 cup salsa (the spicier the better but mild works too)

1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional)

1. Combine all ingredients in a gallon size Ziploc bag.

2. Seal the bag and shake several times to combine ingredients.

3. Spray a large glass baking pan with non-stick spray (or line with foil)

4. Pour entire contents of the Ziploc bag in to a glass baking pan

5. Bake at 350F for one hour.

6. Remove chicken from pan and plate immediately with your favorite vegetables or salad. Excellent pairing include broccoli, steamed spinach, or even a baked potato.

The citric acid in the salsa works to tenderize the chicken naturally. The result is flavorful, juicy, chicken breasts every time!

If you are really pressed for time and need dinner ready as soon as you get home, you can also put this recipe in the Crockpot. Simply combine the ingredients as listed above and dump in to a Crockpot and set for 6-8 hours. The chicken will be fall apart tender. It can even be shredded to fill flour tortillas for enchiladas. Very versatile, satisfying, and very healthy!

If serving this meal to children or those who do not enjoy super spicy fare, consider using mild salsa and omitting the cayenne pepper. It is a sweeter taste but still very tender and delicious. Don't be at all surprised if you are asked for the recipe. Most people think it must be very involved!
