THE PAPER LILY
Four paper petals
colour white as snow;
The lily lies alone
on the writing table, hearing the wind blow.
Plainly folded
neither silver nor gold;
The lily lies alone
before my open book, with stories untold.
Meaningless to many
but never, to me;
The lily lies alone
a small reminder, of what I want to be.
A flower bearing promise
and friendship lasting forever;
The lily lies alone
patiently in wait, never to wither.
*
If I see you again, my promise fulfilled
the paper lily will be my reminder;
The symbol of my waiting - your favorite flower
I will present to you, with bountiful harvest.
Till we meet again.
Until then, I will pray...

That Song Reminds Me of You
I heard a song on the radio today
Your face automatically came to mind
I saw it so clear, it
Tie a piece of twine
Around a your finger
And when it comes time
You will remember
Reminders can be little things
A yellow note
out of the blue
you appear on my screen,
distant memory of ours
rekindle our friendship from the past
We share so many
