If you meet and begin dating at college, and especially if you are both in dorms, then moving in together is probably not an option. If is early days in the relationship then spending Friday and Saturday nights together is the best solution. In that way your weekday nights can be spent on studying and your Sundays can be spent handling your weekly assignments.
If the relationship is deeper then you should plan to spend all of your dinner meals together. Not everyone is a morning person and quite frankly some of us don't look or for that mater smell that good before the shower, the brushing of the teeth and the morning coffee. Put off breakfast together for as long as possible. Moreover, unless you share all your classes together, lunch may be an impractical time to meet as well. Also, almost everyone has some kind of errand he or she needs to get done sooner or later so save lunch for schedule mismatches, errands, and whatever comes up.
Find out when school is out for the holidays. You will probably want to spend Christmas and even Thanksgiving with the family but arrange to spend any other holiday with your beloved. As is the custom nowadays, plan socially conscious outings like a hike in a forest during which the two of you clean trash off the trail and saved the endangered swamp rats. You two can cuddle whilst cleaning sweet light crude off the wings of an unforgiving bird. Or, if you are both handy, both of you can busy yourselves converting her rattletrap clunker of a car from gasoline to running off of fried chicken grease and soybean oil. Now that's love!
Each of you will have strengths and weaknesses. It is mandatory that the English Major help the Engineer through Freshman Composition. And naturally the math major will help the liberal arts student through calculus for dummies.
Avoid opposite sex study buddies other than each other at all costs. Marriages have been known to crumble because a husband finds some woman other than his wife to confide in. Don't fall into that trap.
Try to find some classes and skills that you can study together. Don't forget the local community college for this purpose. Learning how to use digital cameras, or dance the polka or how to get swindled in real estate are things than can and should be done as a couple, together, on the cheap.
