How Honduras' dethroned president affects global politics

by Carlos Soriano

Created on: August 01, 2009

If I had to describe this whole political enigma in just one word, it would be: apoplectic. Many of us today, all we want to do is achieve our goals, live in peace, and pursue happiness. I'm having a hard time understanding some theories from certain political figures of the 21st century. I like to watch the news once in a while, I like to read an article here and there, maybe even write one myself if there's time. But I feel that it is my duty as a true believer in democracy, to let my thoughts flow through my pen, onto some sheets of paper, and onto the computer screen for you to read.

We have advanced so much in many aspects of human life, that, sometimes I feel that we go back in time a few hundred years, on political issues. Yet I say this with all the respect in the world. I say this with some sort of pain, anger, and as straight forward as I can possibly be.

How can we forget all the technological advances, a life-saving medical progress, modern architecture is quite a sight to see; and what about the NASA space missions. It is all very inspirational and promising, seriously. But, where I'm scratching my head is, the political 21st century's ideology.

In my opinion, politics in general has fallen in a vast amount of quicksand, like the ones from Morecambe Bay, England. A very good example of it, is the situation in Honduras, at this moment. On the 28th of July, of this present year, a month has gone by from the coup d'etat, like so many internationally want to put it.

This event can be looked at in so many ways, some unpleasant, some insane, yet for many, like myself, it can be looked at positively with a touch of impartiality, decorum, humility, among many other rational notions. But the actions were done with necessary patriotic momentum, under proper constitutionality. It can also be a coup de grace because, Zelaya can be sitting in a jail cell right this moment.

Now as we can see, and already know, a time to pay the consequences comes to everyone; and he sure felt the rug being pulled form under him, the 28th of June, 2009. Yet he's still hanging around the news, the public eye, and near the border. Camping in Nicaragua and asking for insurrection like if he didnt care about the setbacks and implications this could have on Honduras' daily living.

He is looking to get his title back, to try and tamper with the Hondurean constitution like he intended to do before being dethroned. His intentions of installing a referendum for communist purposes
