even though she was beautiful.
The mirror told her she was fat
even though she was slim
The mirror told her she was stupid
even though she was clever,
Is it possible for a mirror to be jealous?

Adjusting straying strands of hair,
Putting on lipstick
Dead reflection and unreal
Mirror only sees the seen.
Its veil hides me within
Its false impression
Of imperfect.
