Once, and hopefully it's just once, everyone gets the "haircut from hell!" The stylist cutting your hair may have been new, or they were having a really bad day. There could have been a lack of communication between you and the stylist. No matter what the reason, the end results are right there on your head. It's the worst haircut you've ever had in your life. Now, what are you going to do to hide it?
It takes a while, but once you've managed to recover from the initial trauma of looking into that mirror, you know that your life has changed. It's at that moment that you realize that there's no getting around the hard reality of the situation. Your hair is going to take weeks to grow out to a style that works for you. Until then, you're going to have to deal with the misshapen lumps on your head. On a positive note, disguising your unfortunate cut can be a glorious opportunity for you to show off your creativity.
Although your hair has been butchered, you can still look your best and feel good about it. With some clever options, you can make that bad hair do work for you. Get ready to gather up some extra confidence, be willing to try something new. Covering your hair could be great fun.
Tips for Disguising a Bad Hair Cut:
*Hats - Certainly the most obvious cover up for your head. Ball caps, cloches, berets, floppy brims, you name it. Go for what looks good on you and what you feel comfortable wearing. Be occasion appropriate when selecting a hat to wear.
*Scarves/Bandannas/Headbands - So many ways to wear head clothes in fashionable and comfortable styles. Learn how to tie bows, knots and explore new ideas for cloth accessories in your hair.
*Barrettes/Hair-combs/ - Play with your hair, experiment with different types of accessories that can play up your look. These hair-clips have the ability to cover up a multitude of bad hair issues.
*Ponytails/Buns - Try pulling your back into a ponytail or smart chignon. If you don't have enough hair to make them, consider extensions, weaves or fake hair pieces to add volume and length until your hair grows out.
*Hair Products - Mouse, gel, hairspray, etc, can solve a multitude of problems. Try some new sculpting products to control and style your new cut into a look you like.
Getting a bad hair cut is one of the rough spots in life. Although you're feeling emotions ranging from anger to sadness, try to remember - it's just hair!
