Unknown is the story of five guys who wake up in a warehouse and have no idea how they got there, or who they are. It appears that a struggle has taken place and all five were a part of the struggle. They fight to get a grasp on the situation, and as each person's memory begins to return, and the picture becomes clearer, it is uncertain as to who can and cannot be trusted. The clock is ticking for them to figure out who they are and get out of the locked down warehouse before whoever put them there returns.

This was the first movie that I have seen that was directed by Simon Brand, and I believe it may very well be his first. If that is the case then he will surely create some amazing pictures in his time, because he does an excellent job with this one. The story written by Matthew Waynee, is great. Its one of those movies where you are figuring out what is going on ALONG with the characters. While watching it I was reminded of the movie Saw, not because there is a lot of blood, and it's not horror, but just because these five guys are trapped in this cruddy warehouse and have no idea what's going on or how they relate to each other. James Caviezel's (The Passion of the Christ, Angel Eyes) performance was very good, he is the first to wake up and react to the situation around him. For a movie that I hadn't heard a lot about it had a very strong cast, which includes a great performance by Greg Kinnear (Little Miss Sunshine, As Good as it Gets), and Barry Pepper(3 : The Dale Earnhardt Story, The Green Mile). There is a lot of action between the characters as they discover who's who, and towards the end of this film, there starts a series of twists and turns that doesn't stop until the very last scene. The twists are set up quite well, and by the end I was, and I'm sure you'll be saying, "Ah, well that's interesting."

I would definitely recommend this film, it's worth a watch.

Overall Rating : B+
