Today began as any
Day in the row.
The sun shown bright.
The breeze refreshing on my face.
I rose an aging boy-but now
I see a man filling those pants.
The birds sang in delight, welcoming
A daughter, fulfilling life long last.
My arms are open, my heart consumed.
Rosy red skin-wrinkles about your face
Awed beauty to knell in her place.
The world no longer exists
For the universe now sits on my one
Bended knee.
I smile at today knowing tomorrow
Will bring those little words;
Daddy I love you always be
My hero won't you please.

You give new definition
to what loving really means.
