How to live a good life

We were born to live the good life.
The number of possible paths to living a good life approach infinity. If there are six billion humans alive there are six billion + ways to live a good life. Thus the first step to finding your good life is to...

1.) We first should define what a good life means to us. Many of times we want something better, different, wonderful, but we have no idea what that will look or feel like. If we don't know what we want it will either never arrive or we will not recognize it. So please take sometime to decide in great detail what it is you want. The first thing to do is to decide what type of feeling state we want to be predominant (i.e. love, gratitude, excitement, etc) The second step is to think about the material possessions and experiences we wish to accompany this feeling state. Once we've completed this step we can move into action.

2.) The next step is to combine all of the aspects we have conceptualized. If the good life is being in love and living in a big city, then we must commit to this goal by writing it down, talking about it, making a powerpoint slide show about it ,decorate our room or office with pictures that remind us of the good life. Employ the law of attraction to bring this dream to reality (like attracts like) if we want more love and wealth than we should begin to be diligent about recognizing all of the love and wealth in our life today. Time is of the utmost importance. The amount of time we put into creating the good life is directly related to the results we will get. Take time each day to recognize all of the positive aspects of life. Start small and notice the wonder and comfort of electricity, heat, television, movies, loved ones, in door plumbing, the countless cells in the body all working in unison. Take time to relax and visualize the good life. Lay in bed, sit in a chair, or swing in the hammock; do whatever it takes to relax and visualize, in great detail, living the good life.

3.) The third step is to have faith that the good life will come once we have decided what it will look like. This is the most important and most difficult part of living our dreams. As our minds and immediate surrounds seem to be telling us the good life has not arrived, we must keep telling ourselves that it is absolutely on it's way and that each visualization and moment of focused attention brings us one moment closer to living it fully. When doubt arises simply recognize it as doubt and like the Buddha see it as a bubble passing on a stream. Please do not argue with the doubt because it will only make it stronger; simply do not give doubt any attention.

It is unfortunate that most of us are socialized to believe that the good life will either never arrive or we must undergo great hardships to achieve it. The truth is that the good life comes easily once we define it, visualize (imagine) it happening daily, and most importantly believe, even against great odds, that it is on it's way.

Remember you already have everything you need to create the good life. You have your mind and you have time (even if it's only 10 minutes a day). With these two tools you can easily have everything you decide you want.
