Poetry: Fear

by Lowell Mertz

Created on: February 07, 2007   Last Updated: May 14, 2007

I know you
Dank meandering thing
Author darkly gathering
Ghosts of your great conquests
Last incarnate in my tortured
Past.
Usurper
Strategest and clown
I'm not surprised you're still
Around.
But listen as you slither through
Whatever slime you bring with you
You will not win the war this day
For I do choose to disobey!
I will not wear the chains you lend
Nor even for a second spend
A thought towards traps you guide me to
Today, I have no need of you.
