The future President(s) of the United States need to realize that this is now the 21st Century, and the people work differently than they used to. Mass media has made the general public numb to things like television ads, radio ads, and telephone calls. Right now, the one way to reach most Americans is by the means which I'm reaching you right now: the internet.
Sure, Al Gore claimed to have invented the internet, but truly mastering the internet game is how this election is going to be won. Many intelligent people use the internet, and, often times, those same intelligent people are the ones who go out and vote. Communication through the internet is the best way to reach the American people because, unlike a television ad, you can listen to a Podcast over and over again. Unlike a phone call, you can read an email directly from the candidate over and over again. Unlike a yard sign, you can click on an internet ad that takes you right to a website about where that candidate stands on certain issues.
Take note of the candidates that are using the internet to reach the American people because these are going to be the candidates who are in the final running. However, do not be fooled by what those candidates put on the internet. You can put anything on the internet: that's the beauty of it and the danger of it. You have to pay close attention to what they're saying, and, once you've done that, go out and elect the future President(s) of the United States.
