Song reviews: I Kissed a Girl by Katy Perry

I remember the first time I had ever heard the song I Kissed a Girl by Katy Perry. I was loving it until she got to the part where she said she kissed a girl and she liked it. I was like okay enough of that song for me. As the radio disc jockey would have it he played it all the time. It seemed that every time I got in my car, went shopping, or went on someone's Myspace, that song was playing. The tune is very catchy, and it is one of those songs that I can't get out of my head.

No matter how much I disliked the song due to moral beliefs, I could not help but sing along. This song has a way staying with you. Anytime the song comes on now, I just turn the radio. I do not want to go to bed and have those lyrics in my head. Katy Perry has a lot of great songs, and this song put her on the map. Even guys love this song, because it fulfills some kind of fantasy for them. I can't help but wonder if the guys were on the other side of things. What I mean is how would that guy feel if his girl experimented with another girl, and liked it. Some guys may change their mind about the song.

I know today's society is very tolerant of homosexuality, and that if you say anything against it you are homophobic. I do not dislike or hate anyone for their lifestyle choice. I do happen to have Christian beliefs, so this song is not something I want to listen to. Like I have said early it is a catchy tune. I happen to like other Katy Perry songs, but this is the one song of hers that I just will not listen to. I do give her credit because this song got so much attention. You do not expect for something like that to be the lyrics. It seems it was going to be a typical chick song, about a girl trying to get a guy. So it has an unexpected twist. I never watched the music video for the song, so I can't comment on that. However, I am not saying the song is some horrible evil song either. The song is very clever, and catchy. It just happens to be a song that I personally do not care for.
