There has become an increased awareness of the health benefits linked to tea consumption. Extensive research is being done to find the exact correlation between tea intake in moderation and health. So far, the results are nothing short of amazing.

While all teas have proven to be beneficial, green tea has undoubtedly received the most recognition. Scientists believe that elements within green tea contain potent antioxidants because of the minimal processing of the leaves. These antioxidants promote bodily health. There is evidence that suggests regular green tea consumption can lead to the slowing or reduction of certain cancer growths. Over the course of ten years, research has shown the potential for this tea to fight heart disease as well.

In ancient China green tea was used for the medicinal treatment of depression and head aches. The powerful antioxidants found in green tea assist in the maintenance of proper health by cleansing the free radicals within the body that are known to damage cells, DNA, and are conductive to cancer.

White tea is gaining popularity and has been labeled as one of the mot beneficial by researchers. This tea is distinct because the leaves are picked before they are fully open. The buds are covered with a fine white hair which is how its name was derived. White tea undergoes little processing and tastes similar to green tea. Researchers believe that this form of tea contains the most nutrients which would make it the greatest choice in regards to health benefits.

White tea is loaded with the same antioxidants found in green tea that are believed to neutralize free radicals present within the body. Its elements are suspected to promote cancer prevention and heart health.

Another tea that has proven to be a top contender for health benefits is black tea. This tea is typically stronger in taste and the leaves have the ability to possess flavor for years. Black tea is among the most popular teas, however is often underestimated when it comes to the benefits it provides. This tea is often used to ease intestinal and gastric discomforts and eliminate diarrhea.

Elements found in black tea encourage respiratory health. Breathing becomes easier because airways are expanded. This can be extremely beneficial in asthmatic patients. Researchers have also associated black tea consumption with lower cholesterol, improved circulation, and blood pressure maintenance.

While research continues to provide new information on a continuous basis regarding the health benefits affiliated tea consumption, there are three teas that have been currently labeled the most beneficial. Green, white, and black tea extracts are proving the extensive range of health advantages. Moderate intake of these three teas will not only provide a great tasting beverage, it can also potentially assist in overall health.
