The Fest is Florida's all-popular independent music festival with music bands from different areas coming together to create a sanitized and harmless musical fiasco in the beautiful city of Gainesville, Florida.

The Fest may be referred to as Gainesville's officially sanitized festival of musical insanity.

The Fest festival was first held on the 24th and 25th of May, 2002 at Gainsville. It was later tagged Fest 1. Fest 2, Fest 3, Fest 4, Fest 5, Fest 6, and Fest 7 have all being held. Different dates of the year are fixed for the Fest festivals.

Fest 7 was held on October 31, November 1 and November 3 of 2008. And as most expected, Fest 8 is the next big to be held on October 30, November 1 and November 2, 2009.

The Fest Festival is glamorized by partying, dancing, bands' performances, family get-togethers, and lots more. It is really a fun-spot for people of all kinds.

The Holiday Inn University Center located at 1250 W University Ave, Gainesville is mostly the host domain of all registration activities, bookings, and ticket sales for the Fest festivals.

Currently, two hotels have been made the official hotels for the upcoming Fest festival, Fest 8. The Holiday Inn University Center located at 1250 W University Ave, Gainesville is the Official Fest Hotel, while The Paramount Plaza Hotel Suites located at 2900 SE 13th Street, Gainesville, FL 32608 is the official Executive Fest Hotel.

There are other affordable hostels in the city of Gainesville. Hotel accommodation is mostly needed by bands and visitors coming from afar.
