General Information:

Known for its beautiful collection of arts, ranging from African, Asian, contemporary, and modern collections, Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art is unreservedly located at UF Cultural Plaza in the University of Florida campus.

One of the most enjoyable services of the Harn Museum is its well-planned tours which are normally done during the weekends. Tourists are expected to inform the Museum officials at least 3 weeks before visitation for the appropriate planning and arrangement to be done.

For Asian visitors or those with a passion for Asian arts, they will be thrilled at the sight of beautiful ancient Chinese and Korean sculptures and paintings. These paintings give very deep historical explanations of the lifestyles of the Asian forefathers. Harn Museum claims to hold more than a thousand collections of Asian arts: lacquers, ceramics, and more.

For African visitors, they will be excited by many African collections present. For those who with a knowledge of the great Ancient Benin Kingdom of Nigeria, a greater understanding and historical connection will be achieved at the sight of ancient Benin masks and paintings. Some of these arts were used by the Ancient Benin Obas, and some were used as trade exchange during the colonial era. The Museum also has South African arts, including art collections of other African countries.

Harn Museum also has beautiful Contemporary and Modern art collections. The Photograph collections part of the Museum is also one of the best you will find anywhere, comprising some of the best historical Photographs of all time: Sally Mann's Photographic Works, Richard Misrach's Photographic Works, and lots more.

Although you will be hinted about the acceptance of donations, Admission into Harn Museum is free, except when Exhibitions and other programs are done which may require some affordable fee to participate or attend.

Harn Museum doesn't open on Mondays, except from Tuesdays to Fridays. Visiting hours begin from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tours are mostly fixed on Saturdays and Sundays with visiting hours beginning from 10am to 5pm and from 1pm to 5pm respectively.

Finally, Harn Museum runs different Membership Levels / Programs as way to support the Museum. Membership Programs range from Student Art Museum (SAM) Society membership to Executive Membership. These membership categories can be viewed from the Museum's official website. Different benefits are attached to the membership programs according to their relevance and levels.
