Today you can look almost anywhere and see an obese person. It seems like one out of three adults are over weight, and it's true. Over the last several years more and more people have become over weight. Some people try to keep the weight off but it seems like no matter what they do, they gain weight.
One of the main causes it obesity is our diet. People tend to consume more calories a day than they burn. In doing so they are just asking for the extra weight gain. When we sit down for a meal at home, we see our plates. I don't know about you but the plate sizes have been getting bigger over the past few years. Bigger plates means bigger portions when we eat. Most believe that they have to fill up their plate because if they didn't, it would be a waste. All we have to do is just eat smaller portions every meal.
Another leading factor to obesity in the U.S. is what we eat. How many people do you know that go out to eat more than four times a week? On average, doing this you increase you calorie intake by more than three thousand for that week. Yes you can eat more one night and then starve yourself the next morning, but that is even worse than eating junk food. Skipping a meal for whatever reason is never a good idea, it can be more harm than good.
The last cause of obesity are the fast food restaurants. One fast food chain has increased the amount of food you get when you order their food. A small now used to be what they served as a large. Parents are not helping this cause either by taking their young children to a fast food restaurant at an early age because they develop a taste for that food. Exposing a child to bad food at an early age can effect their life style more than one would think.
Over the past few years the United States has become the largest country in the world, and I don;t mean just population. Out of all fifty states, one of them have three of the "biggest cities." Can anyone guess which state that is? Well if you guessed Texas, you are right. It is true folks, everything really is bigger in Texas. So if you are wondering what you can do to make sure you never become over weight, never go to a fast food joint, eat smaller portions, and eat healthier food. Do these simple things and I guarantee you will never become over weight.
