Selecting college meal plan is a very important decision in College. There are many different meal plans available in college. You have to analyze your own financial situation, your health goals and many other things, in order to choose your meal plan.

Analyze your financial situation

Can you afford to buy an expensive meal plan? There is generally an option of buying the supreme meal plan, which costs a lot of money. The university I attended had meal plans costing $800 per month! I was not one of the students able to afford such an expensive plan. Supreme plans have a lot of food items available. If you come from a rich family, or you earn a lot of money, then you can afford to buy a supreme meal plan. However, money is not the only deciding factor to buy a meal plan.

Contents of a meal plan

Before you buy a meal plan, make sure that you read the description of the meal plan. If you eat vegetarian food only; then buying an expensive meal plan with non-vegetarian and food is the wrong choice. Read the description of the different meal plans. Consult with the meal plan faculty, and make sure that you know what each and every meal plan offers.

Analyze your health goals

If you want to be bulky and muscular, then you have to eat more food. In addition, you have to eat food high in protein such as eggs, chicken, beef, etc. If your goal is to be skinny, and lose weight, then you should buy a meal plan with less food. Meal plans with less food often cost less money as well. Your health goals are very important in deciding the meal plan. You may also have a deficiency of certain vitamins and minerals. Consider all these things before you buy your meal plan.

Other things to consider

you should also consider other things such as your allergies and your roommate's health condition. Some people can die if they eat the food that they are allergic to. Make sure that your meal plan does not include any foods that you or your roommate is allergic to. Ask all your roommates about their health condition and their allergies.

Conclusion

These are some things that you should consider before buying a meal plan. Get complete information about your meal plans. We cannot live without eating, so choose a meal plan that suits you.
