Home to both the Golden Gate Bridge and the Golden Gate Recreational Park, San Francisco is also known as the beautiful "City by the Bay". Uniquely, the Golden Gate Bridge is one of three great monumental achievements in America's History that was built during the years of the Great Depression. Its towering and majestic design represents the ingenuity, hope, and creative will of the American people to keep moving forward.
San Francisco has mild and moderate temperatures throughout most of the year due to its high fog factor. At night, the temperatures can drop quickly to 50 degrees when the fog begins to rise from within the city itself. For this reason, not many places have air conditioning units in San Francisco.
Golden Gate Recreational Park: Located on John F. Kennedy Dr. San Francisco, CA. The Golden Gate Park is a creative, recreational journey for adults and children. You will find yourself surrounded by statues of Music Legends and Heroes, a Japanese tea garden, a Conservatory, Dutch style windmills, miniature sail boat racing, waterfalls, a restaurant, bison, and more. The Golden Gate Recreational Park also has a children's park to provide children with an energy outlet and plenty of unique seating for parents to relax and still be able to keep watch.
Alcatraz: As of August 2009, the Alcatraz Island will begin tours of the Alcatraz Prison. Alcatraz is located just north of Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. The island is isolated in the Bay and sits in view of the mighty Pacific. In order to reach Alcatraz from San Francisco, you will find that the necessity of taking a ferry ride for this adventure is a treat all on its own. You may want to bring a jacket as the weather and temperatures can change very quickly.
The Letterman Digital Arts Center: Situated between the Golden Gate Bridge and the Golden Gate Recreational Park is a 23-Acre Campus in the Presidio National Park. This campus is home to the Letterman Digital Arts Center featuring George Lucas films, arts, an amazing theatre, light sabers, characters, costumes, food shops, and plenty of "Space" to explore.
San Francisco Icon: While considering your traveling routes, keep in mind the Famous San Francisco Cable Street Cars. A vacation in San Francisco would be hard to call complete without having ridden on at least one of these city icons.
Bon Appetite:
Fisherman's Wharf: Located along the Northeastern corner of San Francisco, east of the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf is the hub of
