Ways that Dancing Can Improve Your Marriage
Growing a relationship takes a willingness to commit time and effort, and this time and effort cannot be lop-sided. A marriage is based on a couple, and therefore both individuals must be willing put in their fair share when it comes to improving and maintaining marriage. Finding ways to keep the foundation of marriage from crumbling does not have to be painstaking, and can be as simple as incorporating a bit of dancing into the humdrum that has infected the marriage.
One of the many complaints that fractured marriages have in common is that they have fallen into a boring routine. There is work, caring for kids, cooking, cleaning, paying bills, making sure the homework is done, and more. This day-to-day routine often leaves very little scheduled time for the couple to just be "The couple". It is so important to maintain intimacy in a marriage, and yet too many couples think intimacy only involves the sexuality, when it really means a willingness to create a special moment of closeness between the couple. What better way to bring closeness into the marriage than by dancing. Taking a dance class, or even going out to a venue that has dancing, is an easy way to encourage intimacy and adding some spice to what may have become boring routine.
Sometimes, marriages that are on the quest for improvement find that the partnership that helped create the relationship has become invisible. The couple seems to walk separate lives with inconsistent moments as partners. Dancing is a great way to encourage partnership. Think about it, many types of dancing involve partners, which can help the couple find their way back to the partnership they once had through rhythm and dance. It will re-teach the couple how to work together to bring about an outcome that they both have worked hard to achieve.
How often have is it heard, "There is no trust in the marriage?" Trust is a very important element in a marriage, and when the trust fades or becomes damaged, it is often difficult to recover. However, a couple that incorporates dance lessons will have to learn to trust each other. Again, dancing encourages partnership and whenever there is partnership, there has to be trust. Dancing can actually help the couple learn to trust each other, and from that, learn to trust on other levels as well. It may not be the quick fix for trust issues, but it can be a fun way to begin the fixing and improving.
Another way dancing can improve a marriage is by taking a stagnant couple and getting them up and moving again. Let's face it, people in general have become content with sedentary lifestyles; yet, do not always see how this trickles down into other facets of their life. Maybe the marriage has become too comfortable with the sedentary lifestyle. This can lead to boredom, it can lead to loss of physical traits that were once the appeal to each, and it can lead to marital break down. However, taking some dance lessons or going out dancing can help the couple get into shape together. When they see the physical changes in their own bodies, it will improve their attitudes, making them more positive. Positive energy is infectious and can enhance the couple's efforts to improve their marriage.
Overall, dancing is a fun and positive way to improve marriage. It takes commitment, trust, communication, and teamwork to be truly successful with dancing-just like a marriage. Dancing can revitalize a marriage through rhythm and harmony, which can allow a couple to rekindle intimacy and partnership in a healthy way.
