What is a good camping trip without your own camp snacks? Making food for the camp can be a very fun experience. In the old west camp food was prepared by the camp cook in chuck wagons, but today it can be prepared by everyone. There are many easy snacks and meals that can be prepared around the campfire. After all a happy camper is a full camper.

One of the easiest and best tasting camp snack is a S'mores. Making S'mores can be as fun as eating them. There is no wrong way to make S'mores, and everyone does it a little differently. Below are six basic steps to assemble a S'mores.

Find some sticks that you can use to roast a marshmallow with. Usually about four feet long works quite nicely. Take a Hershey's chocolate bar and break into pieces. Place Hershey's chocolate bar on a graham cracker. Roast some marshmallows with the sticks you found. Put the hot roasted marshmallow on top of the chocolate and place another graham cracker on top. Press together and enjoy!

No preparation is required for the next great campfire snack. Apples are easy to pack and they stay fresh for a long time. Not only are the good to taste, they are also good for you. Apples are great any time of day, and can give the most tired camper a quick boost of energy.

You are camping so why not catch your food. Fish can be a great meal but they can also make great snacks as well. There are many different ways to prepare your latest catch of fish on the campfire. Fish can be fried, roasted, or smoked. Despite the method the fish are cooked, they make a great snack. After you have enjoyed your fish as a meal, be sure to save your leftovers, as they make great fish sandwiches. Fish sandwiches are a quick and easy to fix snack.

Kabobs can be a very delicious camp snack. There are many different ingredients in kabobs. Meat, veggies, just veggies, just meat, or seafood, the variations of a kabob are endless. You will need a skewer stick or rod, your favorite ingredients, and of course the campfire. To make a kabob, simply stick your ingredients on the skewer and roast over the campfire. Kabobs can be prepared before the camping trip and cooked over the campfire, or they can be prepared while camping. Either way a kabob is a great snack on a stick.

Let your imagination run wild when thinking of new camp snacks. Being creative is the only way new ideas will emerge. Just be prepared in advance with your basic ingredients, and the possibilities of camp snacks are endless. So sit back relax and enjoy your camping trip and the camp snacks!
