The best ways to meet people during freshman orientation is to just be yourself, have fun, and attend as many functions as possible. Go to all events with an open mind, and be willing to have fun and participate in all activities, no matter how ridiculous they seem. Even if something is out of your normal realm, dive in head-first and make a big splash.

Heading off to college can be an ordeal to those students that have a fear of not making any new friends and suffering through loneliness. The best ways to meet people during the freshman orientation is to avail yourself of all of the extracurricular activities and amenities that the college provides.

Meeting people does not have to be difficult, especially when the freshman orientation is catering to all sorts of people faced with the same predicament. Trying to meet people is not the same for all, since some people have a natural flair and the personality type to attract others towards them.

For those people that tend to be on the shy side, it is necessary to adopt a different approach to meeting people during the college freshman orientation.

During all activities, and you should be attending all of them that you possibly can, you should try to endear yourself in some way to others. Be recognizable, and remembered, either for something that you did or said. This will give you an in later on, when you attend another activity.

Make sure to participate fully in the activities, and be willing to look foolish if necessary. If you are a spoilsport, or do not play along during activities, you will be remembered for the wrong reasons, and meeting people will become far more difficult.

If you cannot laugh at yourself, and feel as though all eyes are always trained on your every move, learn to handle those situations a little bit better. Never let anybody see you sweat, or suffer through embarrassment.

Life is too short to be worried about what others say or think. Be comfortable in your own skin, and other people will be drawn to you because of your confidence and self-esteem.

Freshman orientation can be a scary proposition to many young students, and the prospect of not meeting people can be rather daunting. During your first week of freshman activity, there are many methods to go about meeting people. As long as you are not too shy and you are willing to stop your shoe-gazing and get out on the dance floor, you can easily meet countless amounts of new friends.
