I BELIEVE
When I look back upon the years
I wonder who I might have been
if I had chosen differently then
but there's no point in tears
it's too late to change the past
and I'm not sure I would
I believe I did the best I could
with the questions I was asked
I tried to do what was right
when the choice was up to me
sometimes wrong was just meant to be
I didn't always have a chance to fight
perhaps, sometimes I took the easy way
maybe sometimes I was hurt too deep
even I have secrets to keep
without them I wouldn't be here today
I only did what I had to survive
when I had to do it on my own
and if sometimes, when I'm alone,
it's okay if I laugh just to be alive
