I Am
I am complex and unique.
I wonder how my life will be.
I hear footsteps at night.
I see figures creeping through the dark.
I want to be noticed.
I am complex and unique.
I pretend I'm in a war.
I feel like I've been stabbed.
I touch the flying bullet.
I worry I won't reach.
I cry when I am lost.
I am complex and unique.
I understand I have a purpose.
I say that I am fine.
I dream that I will fight.
I try to make it through.
I hope that I can press on.
I am complex and unique.

The hero, the beast,
The trickster, or the machine;
