i do close my eyes
more often than i'd like,
allowing the warmth of your smile
to come back to and to dwell in my mind.
a trigger is all i need,
to be taken back in time.
a word. a thought. a falling leaf.
a sunset a song. a star among them all.
nostalgia. hope. appreciation. exploration.
the blood that gives life to this heart of mine.
the world says go, while it tells me to stay.
what my soul longs for the most,
is what i intensely push away,
while i ask myself why
my heart sees this ghost
standing between it and what it loves the most.
while i live the time i need,
to gather up my mind
and align it with the rythm of my heart,
in my soul, dreams i live,
and with my eyes closed,
your soul's song i hear.
