no words i have to stand against
the sleep that comes to peacefully haunt me.
there is no dream i'd miss
due to fear of knowing
the truths that my mind covers from me.
yet insomnia takes me
deep into the mysteries of the night,
where each thought is free to arise,
when my inner being, in freedom, just is.
one more thought
and i say good bye.
one more word,
from my soul i cry:
that you open up and live,
that you stop taking yourself so seriously,
and freely dwell in yourself and the other,
as you embrace the gift of life and love.
that you fear not, i pray,
the truth of death.
that you live and die,
and forever change,
always loving
through and beyond yourself.

Poetry: Insomnia
Take a pill for this and take a pill for that
Lock the doors, turn out the lights and don't forget the cat
Put on your pj's
I’m trapped again in this dizzy dance
Where I writhe alone, spinning
In this restless trance.
Back and forth as the tide

Insomnia
No sleep.
No escape.
She is haunting the house now, moving like shadow;
Light as a whisper in the almost- morning
No
by Jon Coe
I wish to sleep, on heavy eyes
just one minute, please tantalize
But alas, as soon as I begin to dream
I am awakened, by this
by C.M. Tucker
If windows would close long enough,
Maybe unexpected dreams would rise
And challenge pain
That keeps insomnia company.
