A number of young couples who are newly married have arguments about the household chores. While the honeymoon was over long ago, and the couple is back into reality, the stresses of everyday life can be overwhelming for a newly married couple. Adding the stress of who is going to do the dishes, and they will find themselves in an argument.

When two people get married they have to realize that they are not living alone anymore. There is another person sharing the bathroom, the couch, the TV and the kitchen. Everything is fine and dandy when the couple doesn't have to do any chores. But when it comes to who is going to clean up after dinner, plenty of arguments and separations can emerge from that. How will a newly married couple going to divide the chores without arguing?

In most marriages the woman is likely to be the one who will do all the chores in the house. Rarely, a man will take the initiative to clean and tidy up. There are those men who are the cleaning types, but they are quite rare. And if you got yourself one of them, you are a very lucky person. You better hold on to him with all your might, because you are not going to find another one like that. I think they come once in a lifetime.

For those of us, though, who haven't found the Mr. Nice Guy who will do all the household chores, we have to compromise with the one we have. I have heard of couples who argue amongst themselves because the man will not lend a hand to the household chores. He will come home from work and sit in front of the TV with a bottle of beer in his hand waiting for his wife to prepare dinner and take care of the kids. But there are also wives who come home from work and wait from their husbands to do everything. From cooking to cleaning. Both situations can put quite a strain on the couple. The best way, is to divide the household chores from the beginning of the marriage. If not dividing them, then both parties have to agree that they will help with the chores. It doesn't matter if the wife will clean the bathrooms and the husband will vacuum. It depends on the time of the day, the way someone feels and the reason behind not doing the chores. There are occasions when the wife will have to work that extra Saturday, because of a meeting that has come up the following Monday. That doesn't mean that the husband can't pick up the vacuum or clean the bathrooms while the wife works. And vice versa.
