Poetry: Dream lover

Destiny

What a lonely place this earth could be
I'll tell you if you ask.
My heart is open. Come right in.
Is it such a daunting task?

I dream of love, and a lover like you.
You'll be mine, I hope.
Open the door to heaven, my dear.
For the knob, in the dark, I grope!

They tell me I'm crazy
and that dreams are for fools.
But they forget that in love,
there are no such things as rules.

They won't stop. Oh, they'll just mock!
It's not something new.
But I don't care and I won't stop
until I find you.

Roses are red. Violets are blue.
Some things were meant to be.
I can't help it. It's the truth.
You were meant for me.

My life is full of blacks and whites
and different shades of gray.
When'll you come and colour up my life?
I keep waiting night and day!

It's only a matter of time, my love,
before our destinies beckon.
The path you tread and the path I tread
shall then become one!
