FAST LEVELLING TIPS for Call of Duty 4 online

The first thing that I would advise you to do is to play through the single player campaign just to get a feel for the game and the weapons. Here the weapons are modified more than you can actually modify them online so don't get too used to all the enhancements being on one gun.

The next thing that you should do is start playing online, now I would recommend that you start off with playing a couple of games in MERCENARY TEAM DEATHMATCH, Only because this game mode does not allow groups of people to join in a party, this stops the clans and groups of friends who are very good at the game playing together, so you get more of a chance as there will be maybe one or two amazing people playing in your game. After a few games I'd suggest you change your game type.

The best and my favourite game type for fast levelling has to be HEADQUARTERS. This is because you get 5 points every 5 seconds while your team is controlling a HQ. This is good even if you are not the best at shooting because you also get 20 points just for capturing the base! Don't worry if you die just after you take it as you still get the 5 points every 5 seconds. Also you will get 15 points for being the one to destroy a base which is very easy to do if the other team are all dead as they have to wait until the HQ is destroyed before they can respawn.
BUT Headquarters is very good if you just want to kill as the match score is not effected by kills so you can kill as much as you like in the 15 minutes you have. This is very effective in improving your gun skills and it will also lead to you levelling up more as you are focusing on completing your guns.

Gun and perk combos. As a new player I would advise you start off with the assault rifles. Here are my 2 of my favourites:
AK 47 and Stopping Power are a very good combo as I know for sure they are a 3 shot kill in most cases (unless the enemy has juggernaut) I would highly recommend this, but the one problem is the recoil which the AK has. It is very hard to control and you often find yourself shooting at the air. So you should try aiming down slightly and let the gun recoil up the enemy's chest.
M4 Carbine and Stopping Power is personally my favourite combo in the game due to the accuracy and stability of the M4. Also due to the lack of recoil.
(As a personal preference I mostly choose Stopping Power as it is a great perk because you save more ammo as you do more damage and
