Fish such as salmon and mackerel are often hailed as being extremely good for your heart due to their high omega-3 fatty acid content. Apples are another fruit which are extremely good for your heart, containing significant amounts of both fibre and a number of other vitamins. It is important when eating fruit such as apples , however, that the skin is also eaten as the majority of the goodness is contained in or just underneath the skin.

Certain types of nuts are also good for your heart. Walnuts and almonds in particular are extremely high in fibre and can be incorporated very well in such as a fruit salad for a delicious and healthy eating experience.

It is important to recognise as well that there are a number of food accompaniments which are very good for your heart. Olive oil is one notable item in this category and should be used in low temperature cooking and to prepare such as salad dressings or salsas.
