Finding your purpose in life

by Agnes Lum

Created on: July 26, 2009

A long daunting question asked by many individuals living on this earth "Why am I here?" Many took great efforts to find the answer; some even attended talks, therapies or courses in order to learn about the purpose of life. Their frustrations are understandable, as everyone wants to lead a satisfying life.

Why is life's purpose so important? Without a purpose in life, we will feel empty and live aimlessly. On the other hand, knowing our purpose gives meaning to our lives, visible paths to guide us and most of all, it will motivate us. Finding life's purpose may not be tedious. Many of times, the answer is already there, we just need to put in greater effort in searching for it.

In contrast a person with passion loves what they do; this passion creates a 'can-do' attitude in them. Life is like a marathon race, one can only excel in life in the long-run with passion.

*Life's purpose is about meaning.

To live with a meaning does not happen to anyone; most of us are still actively seeking for the answer while some can live their life simple day by day.

Understand the meaning and intention of life is a process that needs serious self-reflection and to look deep within oneself. Very often the answer that we are searching is quite apparent but we are always blinded by our fast moving pace, distraction, temptation and peer pressures in life. If
