Take a healthy diet and be fit. Along with the diet, you also need to have exercise programs to remain fit for the dance.

Decide:

Decide whether you want to be a solo dancer, or a unit dancer. In case of becoming a ball room dancer, you will have to put all your efforts as your partner. Decide for a special dance niche for which you might think that your body language, energy level, age will suit the best.

Give it some time:

Like any other profession, learning dance is also a field which will take some time to make you perfect in that field. So, always keep this in mind that becoming a professional ball room dancer might take many years for accomplishment.

Becoming a professional ball room dancer needs hard work, proper education and dedication. The first step is to find a ball room dance class. This can be found out through your local news papers or website. Choosing a reputable dance instructor or teacher is important, as the poor teacher will teach you poor techniques. Moreover, joining a dance class is not enough. Try to join a group that graduate in a professional troupe, as the performance is an integral part of the dancing. Your training must be such as to involve the audience, so try to train yourself to develop this technique and able to perform on the stage.

Look for the expenses. These ball room dance classes might range from $14-$20 per class. Try to find some work-study programs and internships in exchange of free classes.

Decide for the dance niche you love and like the most as there are different
forms of ball room dancing such as; Salsa, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Polka,
Waltz, Paso Doble, Jive, Samba, Merengue, Street Hustle and many more.

Once you have mastered the ball room dancing, try to go for the performances as much as you can and keep in touch with people. Dress up properly and keep yourself well-groomed.
