1. Songs For The Deaf Queens Of The Stone Age

This has to be first, because, as an album, it is amazing. Each song has the same something in it and you know it's Queens Of The Stone Age. It's an album that you can listen to over and over again because every song is just so great. Q.O.T.S.A are not a very heavy band so I think they would appeal to a wide audience. As a band they are great but as an album this is amazing.

2. Appetite For Destruction - Gun's N' Roses
This is their best known albums for a reason, although not every song on it is great, most of them are and it is a perfect example of what G N' R were capable of in their prime. There are some really spectacular tracks on this album such as 'Welcome To The Jungle' and 'November Rain' not forgetting the thundering end of the album that is 'Rocket Queen'.

3. Vulgar Display Of Power - Pantera
In their time Pantera was known to be an amazing band made of skilled musicians, and this album is proof. Each song has that undercurrent of raw power and emotion associated with Pantera's music, and Phil's vocals sound superb over the undeniably metal guitar riffs.

4. Facelift - Alice In Chains
Facelift is the album that made me really fall in love with A.I.C. The album manages to have an almost upbeat feel to it while also being obviously grunge at the same time. Layne's amazing voice is really put on show in this album with tracks like 'Man In The Box' and 'Bleed The Freak'. This is definitely a must have album for anyone remotely into grunge or rock.

5. Nevermind - Nirvana
Nevermind was the album that changed a generation, while also changing the lives of the member's of Nirvana. Many critics claim it is their best album, many fans disagree, and this controversy has what's made it so well known. For me this is my favourite of all of Nirvana's albums.

6. And Justice For All Metallica

Most fans disagree over which of Metallica's albums are their best, but everyone has their favourite, and this is mine. I think this is a superbly orchestrated album, and with amazing songs like 'One' and 'Blackened' you can't go wrong. This shows the band in the middle of their career, and at the peak of their fame. I define a good album as one I can listen to fully; without having to skip certain tracks, and this album definitely fits that category.

7. Things Falling Apart - Nine Inch Nails
Even though this is mostly a remix album I still love it. The remixed songs are great, with an extra hint of techno in them. The new songs, such as 'Metal' are classic Nine Inch Nails; obviously industrial with a great drumbeat.

8. Ten - Pearl Jam
Yet another grunge band is added to the list. This album starts off really upbeat and lively, with Eddie's amazing voice blending perfectly with the music. The album seems to slow down with each track until it ends. Each song is unique but still obviously pearl jam.

9. Led Zeppelin III - Led Zeppelin
The album opens with the famous 'Immigrant Song' and continues into track after track of brilliance. Each song had the Led Zeppelin uniqueness about it and they all blend into each other to create a seamless album. Led Zeppelin produced many amazing albums but this by far my favourite.

10. Tenacious D - Tenacious D
The first album from the duo, showcasing their original style of humour along with their musical talent. This album is great to listen to if you want to hear some well-written music with some hilarious lyrics being sung by the one and only Jack Black.
