Smile, my friend!
You smile at me when I greet you,
but your eyes let you down.
There's no warmth in them I see;
just simple courtesy!
I'm sure that if you spoke to me,
I'd spot your forked tongue.
It's just as well that I play dumb;
your words could leave me numb!
Oh ! Why is it that you go on
wearing those wretched masks?
Is there so much that you have to hide?
Can't you see I'm on your side?
Somehow, somewhere along the way,
you've lost touch of what is real.
You can't even judge wrong from right;
I can't bear to see your plight!
You've been blinded by greed, my friend.
Money is now your god.
You've got everything a man could ask for,
but you still want more!
You think you're going up, my friend,
but all you're doing is sink,
deeper and deeper with each passing minute,
into a bottomless pit!
You've parted ways with ethics and sense
and now you're lonely and lost,
simply because the roads you've taken
are the ones the wise had forsaken!
You've got none but you to blame for this,
but I still say there's a chance,
'cos there's something with which you cannot part;
it's the goodness of the human heart!
It lies within you, look and see.
Search within your soul.
It's a treasure you thought you never had.
When you find it, you'll be glad!
You've been taking now for far too long.
Now it's time to give.
Show the people that you care
and that your joys are theirs to share!
That's the path to follow, my friend.
You'll never again be lost.
You'll realize then how blind you've been.
There's so much that you haven't seen!
And then, when the shroud is gone,
you will clearly see;
your wealth lies in the friends you know
and at the rate their numbers grow!
So the next time that I smile at you,
I'll be looking into your eyes,
hoping that when you smile at me,
there's warmth and love I see!

That's What Friends are for...
I long to make you smile.
Come visit with me and stay awhile.
Friends are made for sharing.

How I wish we could go back in time,
to the days you were a friend of mine,
We used to see things eye to eye,
now you're gone,
A Friend's Eyes
I went looking for you today,
I saw you standing there.
The rain was coming down,
And landing in your hair.
You
You were my friend,
the best of all.
That was until,
that one fall.
So our friendship died,
as did your soul.
You traded me in
and
Alone again. It seems the only way I am meant to be.
I thought we had it all. I loved him in every way.
We did it right starting
