Poetry: When we first met

by Nathawyn Proby

Created on: July 25, 2009

we were young and fine as time had not undone what we thought would be forever a me and you

they would glimpse and whisper because they could not know that
our love was eternal as we sought different paths our love last

you died and left me but memories are still here the tears and years
of togetherness the separation because of the pain never left us
ashamed but indebted

we met we loved we shared we cared and now your funeral is a bit
much for me to think

maybe I will sink in to eternity

no I will forever be grateful there was a me and you and if things had
been different and me more mature our years would have remained
together as the love we shared
