"Shortcut to Happiness"
SANFRANCISCO! Laney yelled with glee to no one in particular since she was all alone. The city was her dream. The place she wanted to make her life. It had been so easy. It had come looking for her and she felt lucky.
Laney had never actually lived in San Francisco. She had only spent a vacation there with her parents when she was a teenager but each new place she visited had made her feel something new and wonderful. Having Sunday brunch at the Cliff House had made her feel whimsical while seeing the art at the Legion of Honor Museum made her feel cultured and sophisticated. Her father was interested in the cable cars that they took them anywhere possible which made her feel like a city girl and that was where it all began. She loved the look and feel of the city and felt in her soul it was home. She wanted a life that was truly her own. Not just a continuation of the small town life she had with her parents. She would be successful: making and spending lots of money on a swanky address and designer clothes. It all sounded so Sex and the City but she was not a writer and this was not NYC. The apartment was on the top floor of the home and she could see for miles. This reminded Laney of that street you see on post cards of the charming Victorians all in a row. For all Laney knew it was that street and she was delighted. From the windows she could see a park with joggers and picnickers. She could see herself jogging there as well since she was an avid runner. You couldn't fit into designer clothes while harboring a fat ass. Are you sure you want to take this one Laney? I have a few more to show you where the rents are a little lower. Candace stated trying not to show the concern in her voice. This was it! $2500 a month was a little
