When I think about pizza and Fairmont, West Virginia only one place comes to mind:

"Colasessano's Pizza and Pepperoni Rolls"

Colasessano's Pizza has been in business for over 50 years serving their delicious pizza and pepperoni rolls in Fairmont. This institution's staying power is evident from their thick crust that tastes like Grandma used to make to their delectable pepperoni rolls which are a regional favorite that can also be shipped to you frozen wherever you are.

The pizza options are pretty straight forward at Colasessano's. No fancy toppings here. The "everything" style being the way to go with cheese, pepperoni, and peppers (sweet, mixed, or hot). Of course you could go with just cheese, cheese and pepperoni or add Italian sausage to anything. But leaving the peppers off would be a mistake as their sweet and tangy flavor is what gives the Colasessano's pizza its distinction. I always go for the mixed!

Their menu does offer other options although I can never get passed the pizza to try anything other that the pepperoni rolls. The famous pepperoni rolls can be topped with sauce, cheese, and peppers in the same "everything" style as the pizza. The sandwich menu complete with an Italian Hoagie or Meatball Sandwich. They offer a classic Italian Antipasto salad along with the Garden salad and Pasta salad. Wings offered in a variety of ways and a portion of the menu entitled "extras" which offers french fries, poppers, cheese sticks and the all important deep fried pickles. If it is the sweets you crave check out their wide variety of gelato's. Enough to satisfy any sweet tooth.

I no longer live in West Virginia but when I do come home Collasessano's is one of the first things I like to enjoy. As we live in Morgantown and not Fairmont my father always calls in the order and we head out to pick it up making certain we take a roll of paper towels in the car. On the way home we always pull over in the same spot and have a piece of the hot, fresh pizza since the aroma would kill us before we got home without a sample. It is a family tradition that I hope never goes away.
