The first step to influencing others to like you is to relax and be yourself. Let down your guard and allow people to see your warmth and genuine interest in all that you do. You must also show interest in what those around you are doing. Many people do not have friends because they have not learned the social skills of being a good listener as well as a good conversationalist. They have a tendency to tune out while the other person is speaking and lose the flow of the conversation. Here are tips to help you in different social situations.

WORK

Work is an important part of our self-identity. Here is a method that will help you to get noticed. Get a calendar with large blocks and write in the important dates for projects and events. Include project meetings, due dates, upcoming training sessions, and any company parties or award ceremonies. Decide how you can actively participate in each situation. This will allow you to be seen as someone who is involved and energetic as well as dedicated to the company. People will appreciate your efforts and think better of you. Use their compliments as a starting point toward conversation.

Take advantage of training sessions as they are a wonderful opportunity to network with your superiors as well as make friends with your peers. Engage yourself in these conversations. One of the best ways to influence others to like you is to have friendly conversation about last night's baseball game.

CASUAL ACQUAINTANCES

Neighbors: we see them every day but do we really know them? Host a casual get-together on a Saturday afternoon and invite a bunch of your neighbors. Plan some activities for all age groups. Be the person who gives the invitation - the leader in the group. Your neighbors are probably curious about each other and about you. Entertaining is a wonderful way to influence others to like you. You may feel awkward at first, especially if you are a quiet person, but your confidence will grow as you get to know more people.

People that you meet in the course of your day, whether when shopping or taking a class, are potential friends. Even if you decide to keep some of them at a distance, you can easily influence many of them to like you by being displaying a caring and generous personality.

CONCLUSION

People who are actively involved in life send out entirely different vibes that attract others to them. Participating in activities will expose you to others with the same interests. People are attracted to others who share similar interests and experiences. Your new level of confidence will help you to influence others to like you.
