Short stories: The execution

Anthony made his way down 65th Street, looking straight ahead.Not wanting to look suspicious while others made their way to their destination, Anthony slowed his pace, listening as the sirens could be heard over the midday traffic.Turning the corner, and seeing he was alone, smiled as he pulled the long gun from his pant leg.Wearing special pants, he kissed it, he put it back and headed home.

Anthony had been hired several years ago by the Bambino family to eliminate those who stood in their way of running the city's drug trade.Anyone who did wrong by the family were guaranteed a visit from Anthony, and he delivered.He made sure the family was serious when it came to money and drugs.They ruled, and Anthony was their knight in shining armour.

The day started like any other, Anthony receiving his orders from the night before, the only difference was how he would take care of his intended victim.Crowbar, high-powered shotgun or stragulation, it was a difficult decision.Shining up "Betsy", it was decided, his favorite girl would help him do the job.Easy to hide, and to pull out, Anthony would make his victim sweat a little, hell no, make him sweat a lot, before pulling the trigger.Looking at himself in the mirror, and adjusting his hat, Anthony was on his way to visit the gentleman who the Bambino family felt was interfering on their turf.Do away with him anyway you like, but make him suffer were the orders.

It was a building on seedy side of NYC, perfect for Anthony, no one to interfere, unless our friend had a assistant or two.No problem, they'll be taken care as well.Knocking on the door, Anthony was let in.Mario Scarino had worked with the Bambino Family before and had only recently broken from the family, deciding he would get some of the action on his own.Bad feelings had been boiling between the two parties for some time, and when Mario raped a younger daughter of the head of the Bambino Family, it was time to take revenge.As Mario was working away he looked up, he had never seen Anthony before, asking him why he was here.Anthony explained he too, had worked for the Bambino Family and didn't like the way things were going.He had heard Scarino's name several times and hoped the two could work together.This made Scarino smile, and Anthony's cue he was his man.Scarino nodded to his men to leave them alone, confident Anthony and he would work nicely together.

Anthony knew he had to act quickly, knew it would take several shots to wipe out all three men.As
