Poetry: Mother

by Ryan Bendall

When you were around, you made me feel safe.

Nothing could scare me, not far would I strafe.

You were amazing, you were my guide.

When we were sad, we'd both go and hide,

Somewhere away, from all the bad stuff at home.

When I wasn't with you, I was alone.

To see you in pain, always pulled on my heart,

A pain I hope is gone, now we are apart.

I love you and I miss you, but its better this way,

Now the pain is gone yet I miss you each day.

I know in the future, someday far from this,

I'll be with you again, in perfect bliss.

We'll be together, like once before,

Mother and child again, for us to adore.

I miss you so much, my beautiful mum.

I pray that your happy, and that you know,

That I will always love you, ill remember our fun,

And in my heart, your memory shall forever glow.
