The Song
Tragedy finally struck the proper chords
To create a melody of sweet-sounding harshness
That cracked the strongest bones and
Crushed the sweetest of spoken words.
The first verse described a tale of sorrow,
Powerful enough to destroy any guarantees
In life or any chance of a better tomorrow,
Which the mistaken chose to embrace in death.
Yet the chorus transpired into a cadence of beauty,
Of which none had heard for many, many years
Because they lived such a falsified idea of life,
An idea that destroyed any sense of possible joy.
Sadly, the second verse returned to the darkness
And the darkness brought more sorrow with itself,
As a companion and a friend in a dark world
Because not even darkness could survive here alone.
And the outro spoke of a broken, dead soul,
Finished off by the ugly cadences of the world,
Sickened by its own faults and evil thoughts
That could have ended the world in a swift moment.

I knew that you would answer
Once you heard the call
Never did I imagine
That the towers, they would fall
Though sorrows well and flood like lunar tides
And evil settles in a sieging war;
My LORD, my strength, shall shield me on
