There are many factors that can be looked at when it comes to determining the causes of aging skin. A persons overall health and the type of lifestyle that they lead are some of the major ones. Here we will look at some of the most common things that have been found regarding this issue.
Cigarette smoking has been proven to be harmful in many ways. It does not matter if you are the one that is smoking or if you are just around others that have this habit. Research has proven that this is a factor when it comes to aging skin. They have found that this habit will increase the amount of dryness that the skin has, and this in turn can cause the formation of wrinkles. There are some of the experts that even believe that smoking can cause aging skin just as much as being exposed to the sun's harmful rays.
The next on the list for causing aging skin would be unprotected sun exposure. Being out in the sun without any form of protection against the harmful rays that the sun has can cause a blotchy look. It can also make the skin look drier, as well as cause the development of brown sun spots. These are very common things that can be signs of aging skin. Making sure that a sunscreen of at least 15 is used while outside that will protect against both kinds of damaging rays, the UVB and the UVA.
Another leading cause that can signal aging skin is the amount of stress that a person is under. It has been said that frowning takes more muscles than smiling. Try and use different expressions can help with this cause of wrinkles and lines appearing. Another thing that can also help is to try and keep the stress level to a minimum. This is sometimes a very difficult thing to do. Here is a quick tip; there are others that have things far worse than you do. It can help a lot when things have got you down.
Alcohol usage expands the small blood vessels within the skin which increase the amount of blood flow near the surface. These small blood vessels can end up permanently damaged over the course of time. This will result in a flushed look and the broken blood vessels being able to be visible in your appearance. Knowing that alcohol can also contribute to aging skin is just one more reason to keep your consumption of it moderate.
The last of thing that is on my list of things that cause aging skin would be that of not getting enough sleep. This can show in your appearance as dark circles and bags under the eyes. Also sagging skin can be directly associated with the lack of sleep that a person gets. Making sure that you get an adequate amount of sleep every night can help avoid the signs of aging skin that come with lack of sleep.
There are things that a person can do to keep your skin looking its best. Looking after yourself can be the easiest way for a person to prevent aging skin issues from developing. Keep in mind that the skin is going to age eventually, but it does not have to be early in your life.
