The best vacation places could be anywhere in the world. Which is best for you and your partner/family, it depends on what you like about vacations. Do you like sunbathing or trekking? Do you like the mountains or plain countryside? Crowded towns or hidden places? It should be different from your every day life and it should leave nice and unforgettable memories, so you can get some extra energy from them, even after you get back home.

There are so many great places to go, even when you don't have a lot of money, or don't want to travel a lot. Probably there are wonderful places within easy reach from your home as well. There are always a couple of popular destinations in Europe where is trendy to go. But you have to decide what you like to do while you are away. Most people like beach holidays, lying on the soft sand with a good book. But popular beaches can get really crowded from mid summer; it is worth to try to choose less known ones, as well as ones with an interesting surrounding like an old village or a rustic town, so after a day on the beach you can go for a refreshing nice walk.

For mountain and countryside family holidays there are always well-liked destinations; France, Italy, Spain or Portugal where you can easily rent a cottage with a pool for your family in a peaceful and beautiful area. For people who like busy nightlife and the crowd, there are many choices in every country.

For more serious hikers good places are the Alps, Pyrenees.

Good beaches - as popular as hidden ones - could be found in France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, Greece and on many islands (Malta, Cyprus, and Canary Islands). Europe is full of historical places so people who are interested in the architectures of past centuries can find something fascinating in every country.

The best ideas what are suits you best, could be completely different from others, the most important thing is when you are planning a vacation, that you look for a location where you can have an active or relaxing but enjoyable time.

For me the best place is where I can have a good base for a week or so. With my partner, we like to stay away from the crowd but also like to see historical sites. We would go for sightseeing in the morning and to the beach in the afternoon. We would rent a bicycle and discover the outskirts of the town, or we would go for a trekking holiday. We like to do different things during the vacation, doesn`t matter where we are. The most memorable locations for us were Madeira Island, Malta Island and Mexico just to mention a few. But when it comes to vacations, we are open for any spot.
