The Black Knight's Fortress quest is a quest of medium difficulty on Runescape. It takes place in Falador and the Black Knight's Fortress, and it is open to both members and non-members. It requires the ability to defend against level 33 Black Knights, and also the possession of at least thirteen quest points. Before the quest, you will need to obtain a bronze medium helmet, iron chainmail, and a cabbage. You can easily buy these items at the Grand Exchange. You can also smith the armor yourself, and pick your own cabbage from anywhere except Draynor Manor.

This quest can be completed in seventeen steps. They are as follows:

1. Go to Falador and enter the White Knight's Castle, which is on an island separated from the rest of the city. Go up the stairs to the third floor and find Sir Amik Varze.

2. Talk to him. He will send you on a quest to check up on the Black Knight's Fortress, because the Black Knights are the dreaded enemies of the White Knights.

3. If you feel that you can't survive an encounter with level 33 Black Knights, then buy or make some food now.

4. Go to the Black Knight's Fortress, which is located to the west of Edgeville and the Monastery. Wear your bronze helmet and your iron chainmail. Go to the south side of the building and open the sturdy door.

5. Directly in front of you, there should be a wall. Right-click on the wall and select the 'push' option, then go inside.

6. Climb up the ladder to the next floor, and climb up the ladder there as well to reach the third floor.

7. Climb down the other ladder in that room so you are on the second level again. Then, climb up the ladder in the eastern room to reach the other half of the third floor.

8. Climb down the other ladder in the room, which should be right next to you. The room that you reach is safe from Black Knights, so you can rest here and regain some of your hitpoints if necessary.

9. When you are ready, exit the room by the western door. A Black Knight will attack you no matter your level. You can stay and fight him, or just run past him to the ladder in the room and climb down to the first floor.

10. Run down the corridor until you reach a grill in the wall. Right-click and select 'listen at grill' from the options.

11. You will see a cut-scene in which the Black Knights reveal their plan to make a potion which makes them invincible. You can ruin their potion with the cabbage that you brought.

12. Follow the instructions in reverse order to get back to the entrance of the fortress. Leave and find the door in the east of the fortress.

13. When you try to go in by that door, a guard will try to stop you. Tell him that you will go in anyway, and do so. Run past the knights to get to the northern ladder and climb up it.

14. Walk along the passage until you find another section of wall that you can push. Push it in and go inside.

15. Use your cabbage with the hole in the ground. Be careful not to left-click on the cabbage, as this will make you eat it. Instead, right-click and select the 'use' option, then click on the hole.

16. You will see another cut-scene in which the witch will be very angry because her potion does not work.

17. Leave the Black Knight's Fortress and return to the White Knight's Castle in Falador. Go up to the third floor and speak with Sir Amik Varze again. This is the end of the quest.

Congratulations! With a medium amount of effort, the quest is complete. As a reward, you get three quest points and 2,500 coins.
