There are so many options and things to consider as the bride on your wedding day. How you will look is certainly one of the most important. Everything from your head to your toes must be carefully considered and planned out. These are just some of my tips and advice having been a bride myself. When you live it, you learn it!
Hairstyle
An up do or a down do, that is the big question. First, I would say to think about the style or type of wedding you are aiming for. Loose, free flowing hair seems fitting for an intimate, old romance style wedding. More formal and traditional weddings call for a more formal hairstyle. Styling your hair up off of your face and neck is more formal. Another thing to consider is the style of dress you have chosen. Again, the dress and hair should be in keeping with the overall style of the wedding, but if you have a dress with a lot going on in the upper half, it's nice to pull your hair away and up from that and give the attention to the dress. If you dress is on the simple side, with details toward the bottom half, your hair framing your face and falling over the top of the dress might be lovely.
Headpiece and Veils
Naturally your headpiece and veil will follow right along with your hairstyle. These two items must be considered together. Not all headpieces will fit with every hairstyle. Headpieces that are tiaras or ring shaped are nice for up do hairstyles. They hold well in place when your hair is pinned up into them. Then you can have your veil attached with Velcro so that you can remove just the veil and leave your headpiece in place for your reception. If your hair will be down, many brides opt not to have any headpiece at all and instead attach their veil to a hair comb that can be placed in their hair and hidden away, leaving just the veil trailing down their backs.
Make Up
I recommend two options for make up on your wedding day. First, buy colors that have complimented your face in the past and practice, practice, practice. Remember to apply make up a little darker or heavier on your actual day, as you want to look picture perfect. You want to aim for natural but enhanced. Stick with your natural skin tones and define areas like your eyes and lips. Remember, you will want waterproof mascara, as tears will certainly be shed. Option two is to hire a professional. You would work with them just as you would a hairdresser. A practice run is a good idea. This will perfect colors and techniques that will suit you
