The Witch's Potion quest is one of the easier quests on Runescape. It takes place in the southwestern section of free-to-play Runescape, involving Rimmington, Draynor, Port Sarim, and the surrounding lands. It requires no special skills or the completion of other quests. The only supplies that are necessary to own beforehand are three coins, a hatchet, and a tinderbox. The quest also calls for an eye of newt, a rat's tail, an onion, and a piece of burnt meat, but these can all be easily obtained in the area.

This quest can be completed in nine easy steps. They are as follows:

1. Talk to Hetty the witch, who lives in a house in Rimmington. She says that she will train you in the Dark Arts if you get some ingredients for her first. She wants an eye of newt, a rat's tail, an onion, and a piece of burnt meat.

2. Walk north to Falador and go to the east bank. Take out a hatchet, a tinderbox, and three coins.

3. Walk south to Port Sarim. Enter the magic shop and buy one eye of newt from the witch who runs the shop for three coins.

4. Walk west into the forest to the side of Rimmington. There should be several rats and giant rats. Kill the rats until one of them drops a rat's tail.

5. Kill one of the giant rats. Pick up the dropped meat. Alternately, if you do not have the combat skills to kill a giant rat, you can buy a piece of meat from the grocery store in Port Sarim.

6. With the hatchet, cut down one of the trees. Light a fire with the tinderbox and cook the rat meat. If you do not burn the meat, cook it on the fire again so it does burn.

7. Walk north from Rimmington. You should soon see a small enclosed field with onions and cabbage. Go inside the field and pick one of the onions, then leave the field.

8. Return to Hetty's house in Rimmington. When you talk to Hetty, she will take the ingredients that you have gathered and make them into a potion, then give it to you.

9. Drink the potion. This is the end of the quest.

Congratulations! With only minimal effort, the quest is complete. As a reward for its completion, you get one quest point and 325 magic experience points.
