Anime, the Japanese cartoon, is quickly becoming a world-wide sensation. But what is it that makes Anime such a popular cartoon all around the world? First off, its not like a normal cartoon but more like a mini book. It is usually started out with a hero or heroine that has to save the world by killing or destroying the villain. Along the way, the hero meets a person who tags along and they eventually fall in love - classic story. But there's much more to Anime than just a simple love story.

For example, the fact that Anime is a fantasy type cartoon provides, for me at least, a release-like feeling from stress and reality. This is unique in the way that every episode is not the same but, some, are actually drastically different. Also, as someone who enjoys drawing and art, Anime is in a way an inspiration. I mean, the art form and characters are absolutely unique. Anime is a very mature-like cartoon which attracts viewers. Yes, shows like Family Guy and all the shows on Adult Swim are "Adult Shows" but Anime provides more real-life scenarios. Adding to that, it doesn't matter if you watch the first or forty-first episode of Family Guy, there's not established storyline - Anime is different. Anime does follow a storyline, though getting off topic at times, which can be appreciate considering the cartoons out today which, usually, follow none what so ever.

But the little things also make Anime great. The way that you can look at the girl characters and actually think to yourself they look cute. Or the way you hear there voice and think your friend is talking - not a fictional cartoon character. And while this may seem like nothing, when you watch and try to evaluate cartoons, this is really significant. Another thing that adds to its popularity are the fight scenes. You've already got a very good graphical cartoon whos characters provide human like voices and now, to top it off, there going to get in the realist looking cartoon fight scene you've ever scene! It looks real enough to get your heart pumping and you just don't realize how much your into the whole episode.

The last aspect that makes Anime great, but also the most debated, is the sexual scenes. While most episodes show only slight portions of the characters body to imply romance, some Anime shows actually show fully nude characters - that actually look some what real! While it is very debated whether they should have these scenes or not, this is what provides the maturity factor and attracts viewers from everywhere! So, while the old classic cartoons are still great, the human-like graphics and characteristics of real life make Anime very popular and, quite possible, the cartoon of the future.
