The answer is relatively simple, "no". Though we as Christians are made up of many different religions...we are still considered to be one body of Christ, providing that we have a strong biblical view. Please, let me emphasise the word biblical. Yes, we are to love others that are different from us, but that would be the whole reason why Jesus said to go and preach this Gospel to the ends of the earth!
Other religions aside from my own (that are biblically based) are not separate from my own belief system. However they can have a set of their own rules and rituals...then we get into legalism, which is a church that concentrates then on the do's and don'ts of people attending their church and then neglects the reason why they exist in the first place...this can often lead to a congregation having a 'religious spirit' which will lead to the warning God says in Revelation 2 to the Church of Ephesus, God commends them for their hard work, but tells them that they have forsaken their first love. This is especially important because Christianity is exclusively based on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. All others outside of the biblical view of salvation will be damned.
Thank God that he has a plan! He has ultimately crafted his plan from the beginning of Genesis! You can see his masterpiece of Jesus Christ on every page of the bible including the Old Testament! How awesome! Going back to the first paragraph of this article...Jesus said to go and preach this gospel to the ends of the earth...why? Not so we can all be the same and be like walking zombies! NO! He did this because he loved us so much he wanted us all to be in heaven with him when we leave this world and he did this through his son Jesus Christ...the nail prints say it all. John 3:16,17 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a]that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
When we talk about room in Christianity for other beliefs....then we get into the issue of works, because works without Christ is dead. Ephesians 2:8-10 says: 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Please take note of the words,'prepared in advance for us to do'. These works are not our own, they belong to God and have from the beginning. If you do good works but don't have Jesus...then you just have good works. Therefore I submit to you other beliefs outside of a biblical view can not be considered Christianity.
It's not a matter of what we call God in other beliefs. Bottom line is, there are a lot of good people going to hell because they believe in a God somewhere that will let them into a heaven because of all the good they've done. Does this shed a light on how deceived even some Christians are? Kinda sounds absurd doesn't it? If you are a true Christian you will have a biblical point of view. I'm not the one that said it, Jesus did. John 14:6 6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
