How to do well in college and still have a vibrant social life

College life is a breeze for some and a struggle for many. The reason being the new mode of study and the lack of time management skills! Till high school, we are all given timeliness and are guided enough to ensure that we get our work done on time. However, in college more of the time management aspect will have to come directly from the students themselves. This could put a lot of strain on many students. As such, they find that they do not have enough time on hand to do things they would love to do, such as socializing and enjoying their college years! However, you can still manage and even excel if you follow some simple rules!

Firstly, understand that you need to be more responsible. The freedom of choosing your classes and your time of class to attend gives you a lot of freedom as a student. This comes with added responsibility of time management so that you can easily attend classes as well as make time for your own things. Many students abuse such freedom and hence get stuck with the never ending chase between time and sanity.

Have an organizer with you all the time. Religiously note down your activities for the day and plan for weeks instead. This would allow you ample space to speculate how to rip your assignments into bits and pieces to complete on time. You know that divide and rule formula is the best formula for time management. The more parts you can break them down into, you are closer to finishing that final project on time if you stick to your schedule.

Emphasize on how you want to spend your socializing moments. Joining a group or groups to meet new people and to reinforce existing relationships would need to be smooth and should not interfere with your studies or assignments. This way, you would not be faced with the guilt of either partying all night or doing things that you enjoy instead of studying.

Always remember not to go into a lethargic mode. I know of many students who take it easy and chill until the last minute to submit the assignment. Added stress would diminish your quality of work and strain your GPA of its score.

The main aim of you attending college is to earn a decent degree and excel and to meet a lot of like-minded as well as different people in the society. College life is meant to enhance your perspectives about issues that matter to you and the world as a whole. Any element missing; academic or social, would not have met the real reason of attending college.

Therefore, start being responsible and you will see that you will be able to juggle your college as well your social life well and therefore adding vibrancy to both.
