No Disney pin trader wants their collection to have to languish in a drawer. Why not get creative with how you display the pins that you've worked to accumulate?
Shadowboxes
Shadowboxes are arguably the most common way to mount and frame a Disney pin collection. These thick display frames with glass coverings allow you to hang your pin collection on a wall or prop it on a shelf to add to your home decor. You can use any fabric or other background that will set off your pins, and you can even arrange your pins into miniature scenes if you have some that play off of each other well. You can also display them with other Disney-related mementos.
Corkboards
Corkboards are another popular option. Since Disney pins come with a post backing, you can push them right in just as you would stick a thumbtack on a bulletin board. To amp up the creativity factor of your display, you can cover the board with fabric or paint it to your liking. Some pin traders even paint a corkboard black and then cut it into the shape of a Mickey Mouse head icon. Instant Disney decor!
Embroidery Hoops
For a twist on the Mickey head outline, some pin traders use embroidery hoops covered with black fabric to replicate the three circles and cover them with pins. It makes for a simple wall hanging that certainly draws the eye, and it's easy for you switch out the pins anytime you'd like.
Lampshades
Yes, you can even use a lampshade to display your pins. Obviously, it's safest to put the shade on a non-functioning lamp so that you don't run into heating problems or cause any damage to your pins. A lampshade is a cheap, easy way to draw attention to your pins and use them in a 3-D decorative accent.
Pillowcases
For another decorative touch, try pinning your pins to a pillowcase. Once you slide the pillow into the case, it's instantly festive and ready for display in the room of your choosing. Keep in mind that the pillow itself won't be super comfortable once it's lined with pins, but it sure is a fun and easily transportable piece.
Lanyards and Ribbons
You can use a classic lanyard to display your Disney pins, or you can use one as inspiration for hanging your pins up. Just attach pins to ribbons and dangle them artfully around the room. Or if you have lanyards that fit with your theme, make them part of the display.
Furniture
Finally, who says your collection under glass has to hang from the wall? For the truly ambitious, you can display your pins under the glass top of a coffee table or end table. Then you'll have an instant conversation starter for guests, and your collection will be contributing to your home decor in a fun yet functional way. (Not to mention that it frees up wall space for even more of your collection!)
